Charlie Dimmock, famed for her lack of supportive underwear started her career by training as an amenity horticulturist in Winchester and Somerset. She also spent a year at the Chelsea Physic Garden in London.
John Thornicroft a TV producer first spotted Charlie when she working at a water-gardening nursery and built a pond for the Meridian TV series, Grass Roots. Five years later when he was putting together the Ground Force team he made her a part of the team.
